Corporate portrait photography is a specialism. Don’t try this at home (as they say). Do the smart thing; get in touch and then put the smartphone away.
I’m often commissioned to photograph people in the context of their work. Therefore, the environments are varied. Typically they're corporate, commercial, industrial, manufacturing, educational, pharmaceutical, medical or creative.
My approach is tailored for each shoot, depending on the brief and the intended end uses of the images. More often than not, I will need to light subjects and their backgrounds; sometimes subtly and sometimes for maximum impact.
I'll happily travel to your premises or offices. It's often the most convenient and relevant approach because that's where you work. I'll bring all the necessary camera and lighting equipment with me. However, you can also choose to come to me at the studio if that best suits your needs.
Each environment invariably throws up its own unique set of challenges. For example, these might include:
Then there are people’s busy schedules and full diaries to consider.
In order to obtain the most relaxed and natural looking results, it’s important to put people at ease. I understand how uncomfortable it can feel in front of a camera. Therefore, I never put anyone under any stress or pressure.
I’m also commissioned to take more informal portraits; often of people who don’t work in the corporate world. Carefully using only natural daylight can add a different dimension and engaging aesthetic.
I also cover business events such as conferences, award ceremonies and PR opportunities. These sometimes also require corporate portrait photography.
So, get in touch to discuss how I can help you with your professional portrait and people photography.
The nature of the situations was very sensitive and Toby responded to them perfectly. Richard Allin Donor Engagement & Fundraising Manager, Blond McIndoe Research Foundation

“Toby is an exceptionally talented photographer who has undertaken several challenging shoots for Blond McIndoe. These include a day in an active operating theatre and another in a pediatric burns treatment unit. The environments were hard to work in, with little to no control over the subjects. The nature of the situations was very sensitive and Toby responded to them perfectly. The final results from these and other shoots were incredibly striking, engaging and ideal for our needs.”
